I like the look of the F emblem without the surround. But for nearly $10k for a set....yikes! And I think there's a protocol set with regards to ordering anything LFA from one of the threads here.
I coulda told u that.... EVERYTHING 'LFA genuine' will cost u ur first born son...... I was looking at the plastics surround on the exhaust... just that alone is like $15k .... I wouldn't be surprised if genuine LFA bumper clips are $100 a piece
On exclusive cars I'd expect to be able to only order the parts if I can supply a VIN number for it for a discount.. other than that I'd expect the prices to be hefty for non owners.
Can't have cheap parts on a 350k car. If they charged isf prices for parts it would cheapen the car.
How much does the emblem cost on other exotics
There's not having cheap parts and then there is crazy. There's probably no difference in material on those emblems than on our cars. I think the idea that they don't want non LFA owners buying them makes some sense.
Next time I see an LFA in person I'll be there with some dental floss and a heat gun.
JKJKJKJK!
Shouldn't be that hard to replicate. Take some pics and measurements and bring it to an emblem maker. Might as well Group buy it for the members along the way.
We can try to justify why the "F" from the LFA seemingly costs $5k a piece, but then why are the other emblems on that site listed at a more "normal" price? could the price of the "F" be a mistake?
Another way to look at this is to assume Lexus didn't want anyone other than the LFA to sport it. Therefore price it out, way out. Exclusivity. And we know the LFA production is not about making $$, but for brand recognition.
