Default Airbag light on

Today while driving the SRS airbag warning light came on the dash of the vehicle. It's a 2008 IS-F. The car has had a previous accident where the lower knee airbag deployed. Vehicle was repaired while the previous owner had it. I bought the vehicle used after the fact and it has been driven about 2,000 miles with no issues and no airbag light, it just decided to come on today. Also, I disconnected the battery in an attempt to reset but the light still comes on within just a minute of starting the car. I checked the manual but it really doesn't provide much help.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Where in TX are you? I took mine to Sewell and airbag and restraint system warranty is covered 70000/72 months. Mine had a connector replaced due "excessive movement"

I'm in College Station. Which Sewell? I'm wondering if the warranty would still cover it considering it's had a previous accident where a bag deployed?

I'd just take it in and have them look at it. No money out of your pocket and they'll tell you what needs to be done. Pretty simple really.

Ya I came across a few threads while searching on google.

Does anyone know if the warranty is void since the car has been in an accident and the repairs were made at an independent shop, not Lexus?

You'd probably have to take it to the shop that performed the airbag repair and have them fix it. Since the airbag was replaced by someone that's not a dealer, it would not fall under warranty. Only exception would be if it were some other part of the airbag system not replaced or touched by the shop that did your repairs.
