Default Spring rate change on 2012's

So I was wanting to know what the difference in spring rate is between the 2011's/2012's and the earlier models. I have a 2009 and am hoping the 2011's and 12's have a higher (stiffer) spring rate. Does anybody know. Also, if you have a 2011 or 2012 ISF and have lowered it, i would be interested in buying your rear springs.

Sorry dont know the difference in spring rates. Just wanted to comment on your car looking good with just the front dropped! Hows the ride?

cause then the back would be lower than the front, and I cannot STAND how that makes the car look. I just want stiffer rear springs that are the same height.

I've been wondering if the revised struts/springs for the 2012's will fit on the 2011. Documentation scattered throughout the web suggest revised struts, but nothing is mentioned about revised springs. I've been peeping the 2012's at the dealership and it definitely has a different stance compared to my car...suggesting a completely new coil-over assembly. It's not as saggy in the rear. From an appearance standpoint, and in the interest of keeping the car OEM for future resale value, I may try to have the 2012 parts put in when my 2011 parts are worn out.

The 2012 changes are not as extensive so you probably won't find too many details about what changes. I wish more people in the know would chime in on this.

Yeah, read that article to find out how ignorant the author is. It's pretty easy to determine what got changed just by looking up which part numbers changed. Pretty comical he said the knuckles were unlikely to be changed, because there is a part number difference between the years on the rear knuckles.

Documentation "scattered around the web" is likely wrong. If you want to know the truth, get a TIS account, login and read directly from Toyota. Springs and shocks have changed even between the 2012 and 2013 model years. Don't believe most of what you read in the reviews and magazines. More often than not they get it very wrong. Like the "new aluminum lightweight hubs" on the front that don't exist except in car rag copy.

There are other subtle changes, but if you have a 2011 and you want the best measured mechanical performance as witnessed by Lightning Lap times, the 2012 set up is where it's at.

So does anyone know the ISF's stock front and rear spring rates for 08-10 vs 11+ ?

I am curious to see how the stock rates compare to the coilover spring rates like KW3, BC, and Tein.

Thanks for the corrections as to the true 2012 changes. As the previous owner of an '09 IS F I can say that my current '12 model is much better in the ride and handling department. I have never tracked either of these machines but I have a very nice and twisty two lane road available for some fun driving and, as already stated, the '12 is a great improvement over my previous F. Also, some magazines have stated that the newer F is slower than the '08-'10 models: Not true.

^^^ It IS slower from a stop, faster when you throw in some corners. From a roll they're basically the same.
