Default Fog light lens burned?

Hey guys,

I was going to install my Putco Jet Yellow fog lights I just purchased but noticed my fog light lens has a burn/smoked black spot in the middle of both fogs. I'm not sure if my lens has a film over it but the bulbs looks stock as everything else is stock. These burned lens were not here a few weeks ago when I purchased the car...

Anyone have issues with their stock fog lights burning the lens? I'd figure i'd ask before i install my Putco bulbs in. I may head to Lexus to see if they'll cover it with my 3rd party platinum extended warranty i just purchased with my car a few weeks ago from an Audi dealership. I also sent an email to Jerry Johnson from Midwest Toyota and waiting to hear back, I called the dealer but he was off for the day.

Since i've noticed the burn mark a few days ago, i've turned off my fog lights...I normally have them on during the day with my headlights. What do you guys think?

The Film is burned.... The film is a 3rd party lense protector..

Peel it off, problem solved... But you can have a better film reinstalled..

You can clearly see a film on those fog lights

Yeah you can definitely see the film, just peel it off and it should be good to go!

No need to go to the dealer, just peel off the lens. It is not a factory option so it won't be covered

Thanks guys for confirming that it's the lens film since I wasn't sure. It's lame that the film burned in the past few weeks that I've owned my F

The film seems to be pretty darn stuck to the lens. Should i use a heat gun and try to peel it off slowly?

Thanks

Heat gun? Maybe a hair dryer, but if you mean a heat gun like I used to use in electronic work for shrink tubing, definitely not. If you can lift an edge, hit it with some Goo Gone.
