Headlight overlays
Hi all,
I was interested in tinting the front headlights using aerotech's 5% headlight overlays. I called them up and they said that they discontinued the tint, since it was too hard to DIY. Anyone know of another brand that does a very, very light tint for our headlights?
Thanks,
Jon

Nevermind, I found another company called rvinyl who also does the headlight tint.
For the people who's used either rvinyl or aerotech, was it that hard to do the install?
Thanks,
Jon

IMO Yes it was very hard, and that was using Venture shield clear bra, that stretches.
I can only imagine how hard it is to do a low stretchable tint film. I would rate our headlights a solid 7 or 8 on the difficulty scale due to the curve part on that raps the by the fender.
I was a first time installer on this particular shape, and did not know of any tricks or tips to handle the curves. On my old IS300, I could do a headlight 10 minutes a side. Part of the difficultly is dry or stick time before applying pressure to a different area. To prevent wrinkles and screw ups I would recommend a professional installer.

Do you want the film or just a tinted look? I looked into the headlight film from Aerotect and Rvinyl, but hearing how difficult they were to install with the curvature of the headlight make me think otherwise. There's a product that my friends have tried on their cars. It's called Eurolight (www.myeurolight.com), and it's a coating to tint the headlight assembly. It's not a difficult process by any means, and it's easy to remove should you want. I know they offer a tinted coating, too.
