2011 LED headlights in a 2008 ISF
Hey everyone, just got in a small fender bender collision with my IS-F and brought it to the body shop to be repaired, but had them order me 2011 headlights with the LED strip inside rather than the original 2008 headlights. They are unable to get the LED strip to light up but tested it by putting power directly to it and they work. Has anyone done the headlight swap/upgrade and experienced this problem? If anyone has wiring diagrams for the 2008 and 2011 model year IS-Fs I would greatly appreciate a copy. Thanks!

It's the same on the F's.
Basically you'll need to disable factory DRL at the dealer and then switch the green wire to either the parking lights (for the LEDs to light up with markers) or to an accessory power source (to have them on all the time while the car's on).

so i read that article, but it didn't describe how to do it clearly so I kinda just winged everything and did it myself. now the led's come on at full brightness only when the ignition for the car is on. I also had the DRLs disabled at the dealership so now everything works the way it should. thanks!

One thing stopping me from wiring mine to ignition on is I don't like the way it flickers as the engine is starting. Factory way is that it only turns on when you take it out of Park. I'd like to do that but I don't see how that's possible without an ECU change. So I'm just leaving mine to turn on with parking lights.
This way as you go past the reverse on the way to D the contact will be made plus latched and the LED's will come on, then when you turn the ignition off the contact will drop out and lights off.
As I say, I am not electrician but I think this could be done with some simple electrics.

I never noticed them flickering at startup and I just like the fact that they go on without me having to do anything. Not being able to turn them off doesnt bother me. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get the AFS OFF light to stop blinking. Lol

I know mine flicker when the car is being turned on.
I def like having the option to turn them off. As I feel like I am "saving" the life of the LEDs and I only turn them on when I want to feel cool lmao
