Lexus IS-F Sound System install - Rockford Fosgate/SMD
Here is a couple "spy pics" of what my trunk is starting to look like.
1 Ascendant Audio SMD 15" woofer, Ported FORWARD and isolated from the trunk...(no trunk/tail light rattle)
one more thing, ITS NOT DONE YET. There will be trim panels to hide all the bolts and make it all look clean and legit. These are progress pics not finished pics so hang tight on the judgment, please!
I can post more pics if you guys wanna see, but this build will have (and already does) have hundreds of pictures so i will have to start a new thread. I just wanted to toss this pic out since most of you probably don't know i started this yet.
Yes, i know, its more weight......but not any more then having a passenger, and i LIVE for car audio. It will have a lot of power but also be WELL BALANCED and sound killer. The SMD woofer is a beast but it is known for its SQ as much as it is getting loud.

2 or 3 sets of Rockford Fosgate T5 components should kick off the SQ really well up front. This car will have over 5,000 watts RMS, maybe up to 7,000 Stay tuned! (if you want that is)

its nothing special....just a 100shot.
i got the 2nd bottle so the trunk looks symmetrical. It will be full but basicly just a spare. I don't even use the NOS hardly ever. Its nice to have when i need it and fun once in a while, but i don't have many situations where my foot is completely to the floor like that. The other day i got into it with an older Mustang and didn't even need to turn it on I need to get that damn remote bottle opener because when its in the trunk and OFF, you can't just jump out, open the trunk and say "hold on, let me open my bottle first". I ordered the opener a few weeks back but Holley was backordered on them. I should have it soon. Not that i need it that bad at all but it will be nice to have once i have it....you know, just in case.

the box lights up lots of different colors but i will probably leave it locked on "blue" since the car has blue/black on it. Red looks cool too though
here is a shot of the front. Just enough metal was cut out for the sub and port to unleash into the cabin. The Ski-hole opened up should let plenty in and whatever is BASS is hitting the seat will just go right through it. Wood, glue, foam and Second Skin sound deadening are included in the materials used to isolate the cabin from the trunk. Its VERY important to isolate when the box is aiming forward. If you don't do that, it will not sound good. Anyway, i plan on deadening up the entire deck and all the metal back there but i ran out....more on the way!
my favorite part is that it will all hide and be gone when the arm rest is up.
