Why not offer real titanium tips as an option?

Talking

Here are pics of my DIY flat black tips.

Instructions:
Remove rear sections of exhaust.
Clean with soap and water.
Wet sand ( I used 800 grit) all shiny surfaces that are getting paint.
Clean again with soap and water.
Let dry.
Tape off areas not getting paint.
Paint.

I used High Temp BBQ Grill paint I purchased from Auto Zone.
I did 3 coats, but could have been done with 2.
Make sure proper drying time between coats.
I let it bake in the sun for a good while.

The exhausts have been painted for 3 months now. NO chips, NO scratches, NO fading.
I have had the car reach speeds of over 120 MPH

I recommend this as an alternative option to Burnt tips or if you do not like the chrome, as was the case with mine. I was trying to rid the car of any chrome whatsoever.

The images are hard to see, since the rear diffuser and bumper have been wrapped.

The heat transfer of titanium is much higher then Stainless. We are afraid it will melt the bumper causing a bigger issue. The design of the tips we use is what allows us to put the tips threw the bumpers without the risk of melting the bumper.

looks real nice! I have the stainless steel tips but if I was having a fading issue with the titanium look finish I would definitely consider doing this

Makes sense. Is there such a thing as double walled titanium tips?

I don't think so but you can try titanium sleeves on top of the SS tips, that would work.

Looking at this site...Looks like Double Walled Tips.

http://www.forgedperformance.com/sto...roductid=17394

Look under SPECS:
(Ti x4 80mm (3.15") to x4 Burnt Ti 115mm double wall tips.)

On an G35 I had the HKS with Ti tips. They were just sleeves with small cut-outs on both sides that you put bolts through to secure to the exhaust tips. They were elongated as well so you had the ability to move in and out by about 1/2 inch.
