Default High mileage IS-F??

I am looking at possibly purchasing an IS-F. A local dealer just took a 2008 white ISF with 145k in on trade and my main question is, is that to many miles!!!

They are asking 27,000 for it and it is certified pre owned!
The main things I am concerned about because it is a high performance car, is that means that it probably has not been babied as much as a normal car! And there for may not be the best choice as I do not have 27k laying around and would have to take out a loan for it!

Any feedback would help! thanks in advance.

It's always scary purchasing high milers, points to consider though; for that sort of mileage it would have had to have done most of them on motorways (highways) so prob engine no more than ticking along. Being CPO I presume they give you a good warranty.

Could give you a good bargain to IS-F motoring, however resale will be harder and check that there is nothing major needing doing maintenance wise in the near future.

A Lexus can go 200K before a rebuild is required, as long as it's been serviced per the Owners manual. 145K is a lot of miles for an 08 but it's certified. if the price is right it could be a good buy. As for an IS 350 vs. the F there is no comparison. A 300 HP V6 vs a 416 HP V8 plus all the suspension & mechanicals on the F. It's a no brainer. Good Luck in your decision. Regards, Shot

145k is a lot of miles, but if it is certified, I would not worry too much. Performance wise, the F has a great advantage over the 350. But definitely have a second pair of eyes look over the car just to make sure there are no problems once you leave the lot, should you decide to get it. Best of luck!

I picked mine up with 85k and it's near 95k now. It had a well documented service history and was in excellent condition. Car still drives like new IMO, very tight. As others have said have someone look at the car, but if the car has been well maintained I wouldn't hesitate at all.

It's Lexus CPO'ed? I thought that only covered up to 100K total vehicle miles.

I feel that is way too many miles as you could get for about the same price with one with about 100k. Another thing is how many miles per year do you drive? Two years later and how many miles will you have on it then?

Not a good opportunity......

Okay upon further research it is not certified pre owned......it is carfax certified.
I went and looked the car over and it has its flaws.....the front bumper is scratched really bad in the lower right corner and one fog light is missing. Three of the four wheels have some curb rash and it has a scratch or two here and there, and it has no navi! Do you guys feel it is worth it at that price now?

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP SO FAR GUYS!

The mileage doesn't scare me in this deal. I would however feel more comfortable with said damage and mileage at around $22-$23,000. Check to see if they'll take car of some of the issues while coming down a little on price. Good luck with the deal. Keep your options open and check with outside banks for better interest rates before financing.

The maintenance cost, tires and brake replacement, can be expensive. Get a practical car and not a loan. There's always a better ISF in the future when you're financially good and ready.
