Car has Joez and Sikky, and I just installed the Injen intake using the instructions provided but got a CEL when I switched on the car.. I did not disconnect batter during installation. Any ideas?

Does your injen filter use oil? Any type of oiled filter will give you a cel sooner or later. You might have fried the maf sensor by not disconnecting the battery. Use an obd2 scanner to find out what code it is...
Also when car is stopped, it won't let me downshift to first gear when stopped... what must I do?
The OBD scanner is the way to go to determine the fault code. With that code, you will have some idea of what the fault may be, otherwise your guessing. When there is a CEL, the car wont go into first gear.

The Injen filter is dry. I used a K&N for a couple of years, oiled, with no ill effects.
There was another member that had the same issue. The plug you disconnect and "tie away" needs to be bridged. Take a piece of wire and plug it in both connections in a U shape. Essentially trick the car into believing the circuit is still complete, after which pull the appropriate fuses to reset the ECU.
