You know you can turn that off right? I did it, so when working on the car, and you go for small test runs like around the block.

I think this is how I did it:
1. turn the key to the ON position which means pressing the start button twice on the new IS since it doesn't has the key, foot off the brake
2. Press the trip reset button couple of times until the ODO is displayed (not trip A or B)
3. turn the ignition to the LOCK (OFF) position
4. unbuckle the driver's seatbelt if it was buckled.
5. turn the key to the ON position again press the start button twice. when the dash lights comes on, press and hold the trip reset button and count a slow 12 seconds. (hold it more like 30 sec)
6. while still holding the trip reset button, buckle the driver's side seatbelt.
7.and the odometer display should read "b ON" or "b OFF". toggle the beep OFF with the trip reset.
8. the process should be completed when you unbuckle or turn the key off.

Just curious..I'm coming from the GM Small Block world where you can do anything you want :P
There is a lot less interdependence in the Supra, but the way the OEM ECM works, you have to install a daughterboard with its own memory to make the OEM computer do something different, and even this isn't well understood to a point the companies doing this could change the operating parameters (ignition timing, fuel maps, etc.) with certainty it would work correctly. Most of the big power 2JZs are running full aftermarket engine management. Those engines don't have VVTi (the ones that do are running HKS FConV or MAP ECU piggybacks) and they don't have a lot of the technology in the 2IS - no smart key, no BEAN, etc.

Aftermarket ECUs don't support 16 injectors, CAN, BEAN, and VVTi so there's no platform out there capable of even driving the F's 16 injector fuel system. There's nothing out there for us unless someone decides to burn a lot of money reverse engineering the existing ECM's functionality and write code for an aftermarket platform to run this completely standalone.

Somebody needs to win the lottery and start a company to build this. It's going to take a lot of money...
