Default Two Left Front Wheels

Hey all,

I bought my 09 IS F in August of 2010 as a certified pre-owned from a Lexus dealership. After looking at some photos of people with an 08-09 that had the wheels on the wrong side (usually pointed out by Joe Z) I realized that my right front was not correct. Turns out I have two front left wheels! Both say LF so there is no mistaking this. Since The car is covered by the certified warranty, do you think it's possible to have the dealership replace the right wheel with the correct one (RF) since they sold it as certified to be "like new" or is this something I'll have to do on my own? I appreciate all insights into this strange issue.

Call the dealer. I would think they would take care of it.

Lol, it's ultimately up to the dealership, so you would get a better answer from them rather than from the forum. I would ask for a replacement though.

Deff ask the dealer, the fin design was specifically made as left right to help with cooling of the brakes, so that would be a bummer to be stuck with 2 left feet! Demand a replacement if they say no!

I'd hope for a replacement since this wasn't something you changed but based on how long it's been it's ultimately up to the dealership. Stock wheels are not cheap since they are BBS. Best of luck

A year and a half later would be hard to argue but I'd def call the dealer. If no resolution, I'd call Lexus directly

Does anyone know if there is a way to tell the difference between the wheels on the 10-11's? All the manual says is that they are specific to each corner and they are marked on the inside of the rim. But is there a way to tell by looking at them like you can on the 08's?

^^^^The wheels on the '10 and '11 are not side and corner specific as they are on the '08 and '09, just front and back specific due to wheel width.

ok. But do you have any idea as to why the manual would say they are marked for each corner? I am thinking maybe it is something that was left over from the previous version.

I'm pretty sure Lexus' certification process doesn't call for 2 front left wheels. I would go straight to the Dealer GM. At the least, you get new wheel and some types of comps

Either they missed this part of the manual when the updated it for MY10 or they left because the same manual is used for multiple markets and some of them kept the original wheel design (ie UK)

OP I'm having the same issue, after checking with the dealer let me know what they say. Thanks.

Sounds to me like there was an accident of some sort and the wrong wheel was ordered. Or it could be that the wheel was accidently mixed up with another ISF during a visit at the dealership.

Eitherway a preowned Lexus should be taken care of as long as you still have full warranty.
