Question Buying 2012 IS-F, need some advice

Blue on black with ML sounds system with nav, pre-collision and parking assist.

The dealer wants $65,350.00, what do you guys think?

Invoice with Options = $60,016
MSRP with Options = $66,660

What would you guys do?

Is that Out the Door with all taxes and everything? Yes that's good. I was going to get same 2012 for $63 plus all the taxes and other BS. What Dealer? I was working the 3 in San Diego. Ended going up to South County in Orange County. Got a 2011 on Dec 31, 2011 for $58.

No, they want that pre-tax, otherwise i'd jump on it. So I should be closer to $63 for a 2012? I don't know if they'll go that low. I may just have to order one from another dealer.

This is in Glendale.

Was yours with the same exact options?

Same options. Just the Special Edition with the red interior was higher, those guys wanted $69 and no Negotiating! Try calling South County, don't know if they still have the 2012, But they said $63. Lexus of Beverly Hills has a good price on a 2011, I can't remember their 2012 price, but I was going to buy from them, but didn't want to driver to LA so South County matched their price. I would definitely call them before you do anything. For some reason they were very straight with no BS on Prices.

They should take about $2-3k off the price. I ended up out the door on a 11' last year at $62300.

I've literally only heard of 1 person NOT having the Nav/ML and that was a special order. Collision assist and parking assist nobody seems to talk about so I don't know.

I never pay MSRP, even on a car that there are fewer of like the ISF. For a common car invoice is always available so I would say that if you can split the difference, that's a nice deal. So like $63,500 or something.

What has always worked for me has been to tell them (via email or phone) that dealer X (a nearby rival) says they can do invoice + $1k (or whatever you think they'll bite on).

Dealers get kickbacks from the manufacturer based on volume so even selling at invoice it could net them a few grand. With the ISF that's probably not the case but try pitting them against another dealer even if you're not being totally honest about the price. Pretend like the competitor price is better but they can't get you the right color or something...but you'd settle either way.

Thanks for the replies from everyone!

I'm settling at around 63.5k. Out the door comes out to almost 70k.

I hope it all works out. If it does I will post a bunch of pics and vids.

The price is just about right without tax. The fact is that there just are not that many 12s in the states. I had to get the dealer to snag my 12 while is was on the Andromeda heading to the US.

(If you order the car to your specs, you will most likely wait 3-4 months. The price will be the same.)

Ok, $63.5 is starting to sound good.

Another question, I'm in California and I don't want holes drilled into the front bumper. The car is on its way to California, so it's not at the dealer yet. Can I request for the holes not to be drilled? Will a CA dealer do it?

They won't drill the holes unless you go there once you get your plates and ask for it. They'll of course let you know about the front plate law.

That's a bad assumption. You need to tell the dealer BEFORE they take delivery that you do NOT want the bumper drilled. Some will try to tell you they must. Some will tell you it gets done at the port. Neither are true. Let them know it's a deal killer and they'll give you the mount, the screws, and leave it to you to put it on. They may also provide a form you need to complete acknowledging the need for a front plate in California.

There is no guarantee they won't drill if you don't tell them now it is critical to your deal closing.
