Default Traded my 08 IS-F for a 2011

Thats right. I loved my 08 but I wanted the newer model year with less miles. I ended up getting a pretty good deal for a new 2011. I did my research and it took about 2 months for me to secure this beauty. The 2011 sat on the lot since August so I knew that they wanted to get rid of it sooner rather than later.

After it is all said and done I got her for 59k plus 1k loyalty and 750 military rebate. bringing it to 57250. I must say that I am impressed with the new ride over the 08. Here are some of the things that I notice after having it for a day.

Suspension is much improved over the 08 and the wife agrees!
new instrument cluster will take some getting used to but is ok
car seems to be hard to judge speed. I look down at speedo and have to slow down
handling/steering is more responsive
new Navi and bluetooth audio streaming/USB interface/Sat radio. my 08 didn't have most of that
I like the new wheels
I like the LED's I see people doing double takes cause the LED's catch their attention
New Car Smell

other than that the power and tranny are still awesome.

I went from Mercury Metallic to Smokey Granite. How difficult is keeping the SGM clean compared to Obsidian?

I will post up some more pics later since it is raining today.

How about the cars behavior with its new "real" LSD? Have you noticed when taking corners and punching it does it slide out on you easier than before on the 08?

As I understand it the "electronic" LSD feature is still enabled in these cars even with a real LSD.

Congrats on the new ride and SGM is going to be a breeze compared to Obsidian but is still a dark color

I havent pushed it yet. I only have had it one full day. I will have to dig into tight turn to see. That was one of the things I was looking forward to was the LSD. I had a problem with spinning one wheel in the rain around a corner. I hope that is now a distant memory.

I hope so. I see a clay bar in my future. I am looking forward to washing and waxing it. Really making it shine

Does it kill the throttle if you left foot brake?

Haven't tried it yet but the window sticker says that I have the feature "smart stop technology" I watched the video and seen how it works. I will try it and post the results.

I, too, have a hard time wondering how fast I'm going. All I know is that when I don't look at the speedometer for awhile, I know I'm going way too fast. Enjoy your new F!

its so strange because you know how fast you are going with out looking at the speedo normally. But with this new car when I look down at the speedo it is saying I am about to get a ticket. I have no idea why. I thought at first that the speedo might have been off, but now I think it is just that the car rides so much smoother that I don't realize the speed creeping up.

Nice move. I went back and forth between the 09 and 11 this past fall before settling on my 09. I loved the SFP color and the price was right for me. I agree the 11 really had a nicer ride to it, and was evident driving the cars back to back. To be honest, I am not totally sold on the new dash layout, I think it looks good, still prefer the original, and I am not a fan of the look of the LED DRL. The newer nav systems are amazing though. Congrats again on the new car.
