i just finished installing mines. hardest part is getting the vents out. i will post pictures up and see if i can do a write up after thanksgiving weekend. so far i have tested video in motion seems to be working fine and the navi bypass works but u have to disengage for the navi to be able to lockon where u are. so everything works. my only disappointment would be the double sided tape it comes with, isn't strong enough to hold the switches to stick onto a surface. 3M is the way to go.

Installed mine. Works great! The vents were a PITA; not pivoting the clips, but rather trying to find a way to pull it out delicately. The removal video in this thread is great. I also took the time and hardwired my V1 into the mirror harness.
Super happy how it all works!

Just to note, when you over ride the Navi with the push button, it kills the GPS signal.
I assume now, you activate it, set a destination and deactivate.....

yea i pretty much mention that above. where did you mount your switch? also i would like to mention that you will sometime need to reset the movie bypass for the GPS to lock on if deactivating the Navi switch doesn't bring it back. this happen to me quite a few times but I have both switches out, not hidden behind the headunit.

Default Re-Open

I wanted to re-open this thread. I just installed this and it seems like when I hit a certain speed the navi and dvd seem to stop working. So it doesnt allow me to access them. Not sure if its 30,40, or 50 mph cause it seems to turn off rather slow.

Is anyone having this issue? There wasnt great instructions so my electronic guy and I kinda guessed and he is somewhat of a genius with this stuff.

Please let me know your thoughts. I am going to test it a little more tonight.

I haven't had this issue. I've had to use the bypass on the freeway a couple of times to change the address or update and haven't noticed. Guess I'll look for it next time> Instructions weren't that great so I kind of guessed on the install and tested it first before putting everything back together.

That would be awesome. We also tested it before we put it back together. I just didnt drive far and we were going about 20. I figured if your moving period it wouldnt work. Didnt think of it like a certain MPH. I will test some more as well. Thanks for responding so quickly.

There are 2 issues I've had with the BeatSonic
  1. It takes several minutes to get the playlists, artists, etc folders to be able to navigate. This might be due to my having 10,000+ songs on my ipod and the BeatSonic has to index the data. This only happens the 1st time I start the car up for the day.
  2. When I turn the navi back on it takes a bit to get the GPS back. Once it's up it's fine
I have both switches accessible, but I've only used the button switch.

Thanks. I emailed beat sonic and this is what they said.

Dear Nick,

Thank you for your inquiry.

DVD is locked out by both parking brake and vehicle speed sensors on 2011 Lexus IS F.
In order to unlock the video in motion, you need to engage both toggle and push buttons.

Please position the toggle switch to "TV". It bypasses just the parking brake, as such we recommend positioning the toggle to TV at all times.
Press the button on the push-type button. When this switch is engaged, it will bypass both GPS and vehicle speed sensor, and unlocks all grayed-out features on the screen.
However, you won't be able to use the navigation until it's disengaged.

Please let us know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
