Default Jump Ship for GS-F?

For all IS-F owners. Would you trade in your IS-F for the GS-F if it out-performed the current IS-F?

It's not hard to assume +500 hps for the GS-F when the new M5 is making 560 and the current E63 is making 518.

500 hp, no probably not. Close to 600, definitely!!! I'd like to see a considerable jump in performance otherwise might as well just keep the IS-F.

In my ideal garage, I'd have both. But the hype surrounding the GS F makes it quite appealing. I was never really into the GS sedan, but who knows...when the time comes, I'll definitely give it a chance to win me over.

I would only consider the GSF if it utilizes a motor that has more displacement, revs higher, and makes more power than my ISF. Im keeping my ISF no matter what, and with my current car lineup, i just dont see where the GSF fits in. I would rather build my motor and go full standalone than spend the extra bucks to get stuck with another high priced, not tune friendly car.

Now if GS-F came with something close to spec of LS-F then yes I would buy it, but I doubt Lexus would do it, they are just to conservative but one can hope and with the time LF-A putting down such fast time at Ring recently maybe we just might all be surprised.

The car is apparently called the TMG Edition, which stands for Toyota Motorsport GmbH. Basically, what this means is that the car was built by Toyota’s motorsport division to show what it can do when money and carbon fiver are not an issue. It’s still early to talk about such things, but we can’t rule out the LS going into production.

LS TMG Edition specs

Back to the spec sheets, which show that the car comes with a a 4,968 cc (5.0-liter engine) that develops an astounding 650 horsepower. To put this into perspective, the mighty LFA supercar only has about 550 horsepower from its 72 degree 4.8-liter V10 engine.

This is basically the same engine block as the IS-F, but the fact that the LS has about 50 percent more power and it comes the V8 is a screamer (revs to 9,000 rpm) could indicate either some racing tech is involved or that this is a turbocharged mill. Indeed, the torque figure of 710 Nm also points the finger towards forced induction, as the IS-F only has 505 Nm (372 lb-ft).
Whatever the case, the 650 horsepower is sufficient to push the 2 ton brute to a 100 km/h (62 mph)in just 4.2 seconds, and on to a top speed of 320 km/h. The body of the LS has clearly been lowered and features the same sort of bits as touring cars do. Could Lexus be going after another Nurburgring lap record?

We expect to hear more of the TMG Edition when the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show get underway in December, when we'll also get to find out if we can call it a LS-F or not.

For me, I would have to see it in person. The performance would have to be equivalent or better, and it would have to look better in order for me to trade. Otherwise, it's just a lateral move that I prefer not to pay for.

The Germans are super hot on this generation, the F10 M5 is 560HP 500lb-ft, the e63 bitTurbo is 550hp 590lb-ft with Performance Pack. Note that the Merc is lighter and handle better than the M5 (WHAT! Yes that what the usually balanced UK mag AutoCar thinks). Also thanks to the bigger displacement the Merc has a lot of headroom and it is tunnable. (569HP and 625lb.ft AT THE MOTHER****ING WHEELS )

Lexus will have to bring some serious big game to the party if they wants to play.
