Puppy Proofed!
I take Chewy with me to work everyday, and I have the occasional stray/rescue/neighbor dog in my car too. This is by FAR the best backseat cover I've found on the market if any of you guys need one. Its slightly padded so the divider between the seats doesn't hurt him while he's napping. It keeps the hair down to a minimum, and slobber on the seats is no longer!
I know I'm crazy for putting him in my F but its cleaning the car more often is a small price to pay to have him with me at work everyday.
Its from Orvis.com the Large in Slate is what I ordered.

My next step in "puppy proofing" is adding Vinyl to the doors to keep him from scratching them. Haven't decided what color/design I want to go with yet.

I don't have a beater either! And my lab puppy sits in the backseat with a pet shield just like yours. Mine isn't padded though, and vinyl on the doors is a fantastic idea. I might have to try that.

My dog doesn't really shed much (pit mix), so I just put his bed in the car and he'll go lay down and sleep for the duration of the ride. He'll poke his head up now and again, but that's about it.

Nice find. I'm looking for something similar for my kid. He's <1 year old now but I'm getting ready for the vomitting stage. BTW, I assume you went with the Large size, instead of the extra large. Thx.

Rolo- yes I got the Large. If you look on the Orvis website they have LOTS of options for puppy/kids. Some in canvas materials so it would be "vomit cleanable"

My pup rides in this collapsible kennel: http://stufffordogs.com/firstrax-n2-...-pet-home.html
No drool on doors, no vomit on seat and no nose marks on the windows.
I put it in the back while collapsed and then set it up after it's in.
