You might want to check before you commit to using one of those. The Purolator filter I bought had end caps and they didn't allow the filter to go far enough into the housing. The application notes do not include the 2UR-GSE, so if you buy one, be sure to have one you know works on hand too just in case the TRD one doesn't actually fit.

^^^^You're right of course. But, the application notes do not specify any Lexus vehicle and it is listed as a cross for the YZZA4. I can see no reason why it won't fit. I have mixed feelings about the end caps though

Because the issue is with the filter housing....
The ISF housing is not the same as the ones that use YZZA4 filters..

Till this day, I still use the OEM specific ISF filter... And will continue to do so...

OEM ISF Oil Filter part # 04152-51010

(for those that want the OEM info)

I just did my 1st oil change myself and used a k&n cartridge type filter. The ps-7018 k&n filter crosses over to several lexus/toyota engines.

Toyota/Lexus did(?) offer the 04152-38020 for the Land Cruiser/LX 570. It has the same dark color as the IS-F 04152-51010, and came with all the O-rings and drain. I believe it has been superseded to the YZZA4.

Lexus of Riverside (CA) no longer sells the 51010's. Superseded to the YZZA4's, which they sell for just under $12. I respectfully declined and checked virtually next door where the identical filter is $4.

Are the 51010's being discontinued?

I've seen them listed for the RC F as well, so I doubt they're being discontinued. However, UOA shows no evidence of the YZZ4 failing in service, and all my UOAs have shown excellent numbers with the YZZ4 elements. I really doubt there is a difference between the elements.

seems like too much thought. Just let the dealership change the oil or at least supply the correct filter. Done and done.
