Default Valve Stem Question

Hello all, I just purchased a set of the OEM 08' BBS IS-F Wheels that do not have vale stems in them. Where do I get them from and does it have to be a certain type? Thanks in advance!!

What are you mounting them on? The ISF, as do most new cars today, comes with a TPMS system that's integrated with the valve stem. Will a standard valve stem work without the TPMS, I believe the answer is yes, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yes a standard Schrader type should fit no problem, but most performance rims do not use standard rubber valves, as they tend to look ridiculous. A tire shop will determine this proper fitment, but I think you will find they will recommend a threaded type of valve for best fitment.

TPMS sensors are intended to be used with the BBS rims and as mentioned incorporate the stem into the entire valve

These use a service pack which consist of nuts and "O" rings to secure onto the rim. These should be replaced each time the valve is removed from the rim.

If no TPMS system is used - performance low profile rims usually use a valve stem that look like these Ray's ones

Your standard local tire shop should be able to help you with proper valves and the TPMS will take some effort on your part to find the right price, order them and have them programmed into your car.

In Europe we do not have the TPMS, the wheels have standard valve stems with an 'alloy' cover and a matching cap. The cover can be removed so it can be installed on the new valve stem when the tire is changed
