So just last week, I finally put an order in to replace my factory Michelin Pilot Sport 2 for the new Pilot Super Sport which just came out last month. I know its too soon to write a review on a new tire I haven't driven on but hope to share my initial impressions soon. I've been pretty impressed with the factory PS2's on the IS F as i've gotten close to 35k on them. Not surprisingly my front tires still have about 3/32" to 4/32" and the rears are finally down to the 2/32" wear bars. I ended up ordering the OEM 225/40ZR19 front and 255/35ZR19 rears. I was thinking of plus sizing but since I really don't drive my car hard, I wasn't looking to spend more money to get more road noise. lol.

I might be purchasing these as well but I only have 16K miles with my potenzas .. The stealership is telling me it's time to replace. What's the secret to long lasting tires? My car is street driven about 75%. Really wasn't expecting to replace tires this early on. Womp womp womp

I put the Super Sport a couple of weeks ago on my F.
I can't really comment in detail on it because I only drove around 30 miles before I shipped my car overseas.

However, I noticed that the Super Sport is much quiter and more cushy (it's a compliment) than the RE050A. I am yet to find out the tire's performance, but it shouldn't be bad, should it?

I'm riding Advan Sports now and they're actually a well rounded tire as far as grip and road noise. Ride quality is very good but the tread life is rather short.

I'm wondering if its a big enough improvement to justify switching early? I still have 6.5/10 left.

Looking forward to the feedback on the PSS. I've still got awhile till tire replacement, so I'd be nice to hear what owners have to say about road noise, longevity, grip, and the such.

So initial impressions so far...despite the threadjacking from the others here LOL...

Tires are obviously quiet because they are new. First look, the tires profile is a tad more square than the factory PS2 which I like. The "rim protection" on the PSS is a tad slimmer than the PS2 by a few millimeters. I'm still impressed that my old PS2's lasted to 35k miles and by what Michelin is advertising, I should expect the same amount of mileage if not more. My factory PS2 fronts had a good 3/32" of tread, but after pulling the wheel off, the belts started to get exposed on the inner tread of both fronts. This is typical of a double wishbone suspension, even more so being mildly lowered. So far so good...I will update this thread with results as we go. Loving the PSS aka PS3 in Europe.
