Default IS-F Car Covers (merged threads)

Anyone know if there are any car covers out there that will fit the IS-F yet?

I don't think an ISx50 cover will fit because of the different dimensions..

I'm going to try to call CoverCraft tomorrow to see if they can make a custom cover.

Also, I live in Southern California, very near the beach, any materials you would recommend to keep moisture out?

Thanks

The current OEM Lexus 2IS Car Cover should fit. If anything, they are always built with enough slack to accommodate. The Lexus OEM covers work well even if you have a body kit on your vehicle!

Any 2IS car cover should fit. The 2IS dimensions aren't that significantly different that a 2IS car cover won't fit your IS-F.

Default IS250/350 Car Cover on ISF

I received my IS250/350 Weathershield car cover from Lexus today and thought I share some pics for those of you contemplating on getting one now or wait. I also included some pics of my generic 10+ yr old Covercraft Technalon2 Evolution 4 car cover that I used for my Supra to temporary cover my ISF till the car cover from Lexus arrived. I have the same car cover for my GS, but it is customized for the GS so it fits like a glove unlike the generic one for my Supra that's pictured.

IMO the Covercrafts are still more superior especially if you are going to use them outdoors to protect the car from EXTREME conditions. If you used anything similar you know what I'm talking about with enough thickness to even protect a light minor dings. Otherwise, I think the Lexus one should be sufficient for the warmer climate states. I have stored one of my cars in the winter outside with the Covercraft Evol 4 in the past and it has weathered Minnesota winters without any issues.

The one thing I did notice and you'll see is that it is a really tight fit in the front and back when I started to cover the car completely. Probably because it is brand new so it needs to be stretched, but you won't have to worry about it blowing away. In addition it comes with a built-in velcro attached bag made of the same material to store the cover and a tie rope for fastening the sides for those windy days - but I don't think it will be going anywhere. One nice thing is that it is extremely compact (fits in the bag pictured) and portable compared to my Covercraft covers. Did I mention it was free?

The cover feels like thick nylon material, but it shouldn't scratch your cover as long as you wipe down your car prior to putting it on to avoid trapping airborne pollutants or deposits that may come in contact with the cover. This process is more important if you are using the cover outdoors in windy conditions as the cover will tend to move slightly. However, if you notice, it fits fairly tight so there is less movement compared to oversize covers.

Regular washing will also help keep any containments from being trapped under the cover.

I'm sure the Lexus 250/350 cover would fit. Even though its pricey, the quality is good.

I have a Covercraft WeatherShield HP that is made custom for the IS-F and it fits perfectly. You can order it online, it is a bit expensive, but it works really well to keep dust and moisture off the car.

I got mine from CarCoversDirect. They offer several custom made and the one I got is for limited outside use and was relatively cheap (so OK if your car sleeps in a garage).

Custom-Fit Car Cover
Part #:C17067SG
Model: IS F
Year: 2008
Features: Sedan (4 Door)
Material: Multibond
Color: Gray
Quantity: 1
Price: $128.11

It fits perfectly.

Default Question about Empire Car Cover

Unfortunately, my F won't be in a garage.

Have any of you heard of Empire car covers? According to reviews, their high-end covers are quite effective.

I'm thinking of getting the Titan Quatro 4L Car Cover, which is the most protective cover. I need to protect the F from snow, ice, rain, pollen, etc.

What do you guys think?
