Default IS-F Questions

All,

I have a IS350, and am going to get an IS-F. What are some things I should consider? Also, does the IS-F have factory coil overs, or will I need to add them to lower the car? Thanks in advance.

IS-F doesn't come with factory coilovers, you would need to install aftermarket one to adjust ride height and shock dampening. Since most IS-F's are still under factory warranty all you really have to look for is paint and interior flaws or wears. Check tires, brakes and service history.

First off, welcome to CL! Some things you should consider when getting an IS F should be the cost (insurance, gas, etc.) Some say the 350 and F are comparable for insurance quotes, but only you and your agent can really find the difference. The power is definitely there, but should you choose, you may want to upgrade the intake (Joe Z, Takeda, Injen come to mind) and exhaust (Joe Z/ PTS, ISS, etc.). As for the suspension, the 2010 I believe were slightly adjusted to be more driving compliant, but there are some good coilovers out there currently (Tein, KW V3, etc.). Are you looking for any particular year, color, or options? In any case, best of luck, and hopefully you'll snag the one that suits you best!

If purchasing used, I thought warranty is not transferable.

^^ The factory warranty of 4 years / 50k miles goes with the car. No need to do anything, it will transfer to you automatically.

If you're talking about extended warranty, you'd have to look at the warranty terms. Some are transferable, others are not.

All, this is very helpful. One last question. When were the new LED headlight (the eyelashes) introduced? Are they also on the 2010? Also, when was the new white color (the one that is more iridescent) introduced?

Thanks again-

The LED daytime running lights were introduced in 2011. The white has been the same since 2008. It's Starfire Pearl.
