Exclamation Alignment after aftermarket larger tire dimensions??

I recently went to 19" Work Varianza T1S with the below:

Front: 19X9 +40 on PS2s 245/35/19
Rears: 19X10.5 +53 on PS2s 285/30/19

The ride is obviously more harsh but the rear feels a bit jittery. I am not sure if the lower profile means feeling road imperfections more or if I need to check the balance on the wheels again.

I went back to the stock set and it feels way more smooth.

For all the upsized their tire dimensions, what was the feeling after stock and did you get an alignment after??

Are these heavier than stock? I noticed exactly the same smoother ride when I went back to stock from my heavier winter wheel and tire set-up.

glad i stayed away from the ps2 if the ride became more harsh with those up size tires. i think it depends on the tires. i have the stock bridgestones and im feeling like my car bottoms out over bumps everytime and the rear feels loose on traction especially the passenger side. basically what ur experiencing with those ps2. i think when ur changing tires or wheels an alignment must be done to correct any steering issue or balance and also to get the most out of ur tires life.

It seems to be a combination of a more harsh ride and feels like atleast one of the rear wheels are off balanced a bit, it is very subtle but the stock wheels feels so much better. I am rebalancing the wheels tomorrow and we'll see before doing an alignment.

would the alignment be the same as stock when upsizing tires?
or would the specs be different?
im asking because i was going to use lobux's alignment spec sheet and am wondering if it will still get me even ware

its ok to use lobux specs for alignment, ur main concern should be to use zero toe and the camber and caster close as symetrical, within the spec range. as far as i know i think i might have the sam problem as you Silver88. Let me know how that plays out. mines was subtle at first then now i think it changed the whole car. feels very different from stock.

I rebalanced the wheels, one of my fronts was off by 40grams and the rest were off by 15grams. Going to demoing them and see if it is all good now, will update.

essentially your tire side wall has not changed in height as it is a ratio based on percentage of tire width. Even though you upped your tire width you essentially maintained the sidewall height even though dropping the ratio.

Sounds like it is less likely an alignment issue and more likely balancing and possibly an unsprung weight difference.

Test drove it after the reblance and it is a bit better but still not like stock. I think it is a combination of unsprung weight and balance as well. Also, the stock PS2s feel a lot different than normal PS2s. It feels like the imperfections in the road is amplified somehow and is transferred through the chassis.

Anyone with Work Wheels feel similar?

Next step is to track down a roadforce balancing machine to rule out the balance issue. The Wheels and tires do feel heavier than stock.

Have you checked the psi? Maybe your stocks are a lower psi than the new setup..

I have matched the tire pressure to the recommended stock pressure of 36 psi all around.

I have up-sized tires but on OEM wheels, so I am not experiencing the issues that you are.

Are your aftermarket wheel hubs sized for the IS-F? If not, are you running hubcentric rings?

I am running hub centric rings. I will probably upsize tires on the stock rims after I wear them out.

Hope the roadforce balance will help or show if a tire is out of round.

With the roadforce balance, they managed to lower the push back on one rear from 36lbs to 6lbs, the other rear from 10lbs to 4lbs and the fronts to 2lbs.

Highly suggest a roadforce balance for larger wheels and tires. Even with Michelin PS2s I got a bum one that was out of round a bit.

Now to change the wheels again for the 4th time this week.
