bought my '08 with 75k on it for $26k, about to break 100k miles! it's been absolutely flawless, and my wife adores it. she insists on driving it whenever she can. im thinking about giving it to her and getting another newer one or an RC-F.

love my F though, especially now that i've added k&n intake, joe z exhaust, 25mm spacers, and have BC coils and ppe headers otw

Haha my girl wanted to take mine and was sincerely excited to push me to get rcf or gsf in future. But since im paying bills while she stays at home im done with car notes for now that f is paid off...But, in respect to finding another 08 for only 26K what a steal!

Bought in May13 at 39k and am at 44k. Had the water pump replaced and plan on pushing Lexus to fix the blown sub. Via email, one of the dudes told me they wouldn't replace it unless it's "completely not functioning." Though I plan on winning this battle, would love to hear from others that had theirs replaced for being blown. Please chime in!

The car is a marvel. Such a high performance engine going the distance without major issues like rod bearings, gaskets, etc. Really an engineering marvel - I'm so proud to own one.

Its interesting you say that about the engine... I just had my CEO lose the top end on his 2013 Dodge SRT8 and he does not drive it hard at all, and another friend have 3 rockers fail on his charger and its a 2012 with 68K.... which is a prevalent problem. We must be fortunate (knock on wood) for the reliability of our vehicle.

Planning on keeping your F for another 100k? I know you had transmission problem. If you are keeping your car for another 100k + look at this thread

I'm not gonna spend $1000 because all that's gonna do is jinx me that the transmission is going to go out again. I think i have a theory as to what really happened. My car has almost 139k miles on it, and no issues thus far. So I have about 56,000 miles on this rebuilt transmission. I've been changing some of the transmission oil every 25k miles (rather i just drain what's in the pan, and replace whatever came out) and it's been looking good. Sure, might be overkill, but the transmission has like 11 quarts of oil, and each time you really only pour in 2-3 more quarts, then that gets cycled around.

I'm essentially keeping this IS F till it dies. There's no reason to replace it so far, and with the mileage I have, I can't sell it for much (I think KBB says $17,000). What am I gonna buy for $17,000? A Hyundai Elantra?

Everything still works great in the car. Still quiet, steering is tight, no weird noises, and it doesn't leak any oil anywhere.

Been busy with work as I started a new job. Picked up a new hobby (woodworking), and have been spending a ton of time rebuilding my old BMW e30.

I don't know about you guys, but my IS F gets redlined 3-4 times a day at the minimum. I love the sound of no exhaust...LOL. I'm probably going to be driving the car less and less because honestly, I can't wait till my BMW e30 is completely rebuilt. I'll probably be at 155k-160k by the end of this year with my IS F.
