Moon Roof Throb Noise/Mirror Vibration When Open

Some 2006 - 2010 model year IS vehicles may exhibit a throb noise and/or mirror vibration with the moon roof in the "Full Open" position. This condition is typically present between 45 - 65 mph. New moon roof deflector panel pads have been developed to address this condition.

What ended up happening with your situation? I just purchased a 2008 IS 250 AWD, 2 days ago.. 64k, its beautiful, so well taken care of, and I just had the same issue as you did. On the hwy with the roof open. I thought I had driven over those rumble strips, thats how loud it was, adn the center windshield and RV mirror were shaking, so much as i couldn't see out of it. It didnt' last long, but I thought i had a flat tire or something, it was shaking so much. I see mention of TSB SB0061.. ?? Not sure how these work.. never thought id be dealing with this 2 days after my purchase. I have a call out to the toyota dealer that sold me the car, so i'm trying to get as much info, to see what they will do for me.

there is atSIB on this. I had mine done the first week I had it. I shave my head so I ALWAYS drive with my sunroof open and windows down. It would vibrate the mirror to the point where it would point straight down.

Totally fixable !!
