I understand. However, they have a CL and a CLK coupe. Why did they feel the need to come out with an E class coupe?
Edit: Didn't realize that the E class coupe pretty much replaced the CLK model.
That's why I posted my previous statement. I was thinking of what the need was for a CLK,E class, and CL coupe. Nevermind though.

Well I wish I could say the same thing but I do have brand loyalty. I love Lexus and although I do agree the IS coupe is flawed, I sometimes feel that MB and BMW are overpriced. That's just me though. Also I have heard (might not have been true) that MB customer service over the span of 10-15 years has declined significantly. I mean don't get me wrong I would love to own any kind of AMG car but its just not realistic for me to be able to have one.

Agreed, the C63 looks mean!!!! But no coupe for me, the reason I got the F is because it's a sedan and I have the convenience of 4-doors to ferry extra people if needed. As it is the backseats are cramped, it would be pointless to pay more and have smaller seats! I like the F as a sedan, nothing less.

I'm surprised with all the talk about the M3 and the ISF competition, that the 1M hasn't been thrown into the mix. When the reviews came out and what this thing can do out of the box, this 1M is a great car.

The 1M and the M3 are literally identical in 0-60, 1/4 runs, and actually is bit better in the slalom. Go figure, the 1M has the M3 suspension and with the TT-inline 6 putting down 335HP/332 lb-Ft tq and the car weighing around 3200LBS, ....it moves.!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw an Alpine white brand new probably the 1st one in my area. At first I thought it was the M3, until I saw ONLY the M-Badging, then I realized it WAS the 1M. I kid you not, the car looks like a PIT BULL ready to romp, with the wide rear tracking it's all business. Box fender flares only complement the overall look of the vehicle.

The reviews thus far have been phenomenal and they say this is WHAT the M3 should have been. 6-spd Manual trans, no electronic nannies, it is in the purest sense a driver-focused vehicle.......NICE!!!!!!!!

I'm so impressed with this car I put 1 on order can't wait to have this one in the stable. Reminds me of my Dad's BMW 2002, how much fun it was to drive. 4-spd manual, Manual Steering and nothing but fun

From an amenities, size, and target demographics standpoint, the 1M is in a different class than the ISF, C63, M3, etc. Sure, on paper, the numbers are similar, but they're just cars of different classes.

I'd buy a base model Corvette before I'd buy the 1M. Sorry about your weight numbers, but BMW calls the 1 M 3362 lbs. Not very light for what it could be IMHO. Base model Corvette? 3206 lbs. I could have a passenger in the Vette to even things up for the Bimmer. Oh, the Vette has more power. Almost 100 more with a full warranty and no warranty killing ECU monkey business. Best of all, the base prices are within $3k for comparably equipped models.

Once again, a major opportunity to build something truly special turns out to be overweight and underpowered. If this car weighed in at 2950 lbs, it would be truly awe inspiring.

^ Yeah, I'd choose a base C6 over a 1M anyday. The 1M will have a much nicer interior, but at least I won't look like I'm riding a pregnant beluga whale.

Is it just me, or does the C63 coupe resemble the current generation Accord coupe from the B-pillar back?

I'm not sure how a 3900 lb, electric-everything, non-manual transmission car could provide a similar driving experience to the 2002. Now, an E30 M3 or 190E 2.5-16, on the other hand....

The 1M to me is as ugly as the regular 1 series due to those bug eyed headlights and the cheap looking rear taillights. It's also not a true M car since it doesn't have a S engine in it. Just the same engine the 335is and the Z4335is has. BMW just raided the
M3 parts bin for the wheels, brakes, susp and rear end to slap together the 1M.
