That's exactly what I bought from Jerry a couple of weeks ago. Just awaiting the paperwork from Lexus.

Default Extended Warranty

My 08' ISF warranty is going to expire this October. I decided I am going to purchase the additional extended warranty and was wondering if anyone knows of a advisory around the bay area that gives a good deal on the extended warranty. I am near Stevens creek Lexus just to get an idea of where I am located.

Thanks for any help.

thanks, will call him up. Is this platinum warranty just like the manufacture warranty where it covers everything? Any deductibles?

Yea Jerry sells the actual Toyota/Lexus warranty. You pay over the phone and he sends you a confirmation then like a week later you get all the paper work from Lexus Corp. Mine was $1750 extended me out to 75k and 4 more years, there is an option for 100k miles but I dont drive enough to hit that.

I believe the platinum warranty is an extension of the original warranty, it covers everything!

The platinum warranty is not a CPO, but is an extension of the factory warranty (though it doesn't cover rattles). From what I understand, CPO is an agreement between Lexus and a 3rd party insurer.

Anyone know of a dealer who will sell the Lexus extended warranty if your factory warranty is expired? I read on this forum that someone was able to. What I mean by this is that I bought my car private party and would like to purchase a Lexus warranty. I called a few local dealers and they can't help since my factory warranty is expired but was hoping someone might know a dealer who can make an exception?

Or are there any 3rd party companies that offer a competitive warranty?

So basically it covers you for 25k more miles or 4 years whichever comes first?

Hey guys. I'm fairly new to CL community but I've been reading a lot of post as of late. A quick intro. I bought Starfire Pearl 08 IS-F back in Jun 12 through a local delearship. I'm located in Santa Barbara county. All I can say about this car is.... Man oh Man!!! What a great car. I couldn't ask for more. 4 dr, very fast, and very rare car. I only seen one in Santa Barbara area and it was female driving a silver (i think) IS-F.

Anyways, my warranty actually expired May of this year and I wanted to buy extended warranty but they are pricey. I wasn't sure if I could still buy extended warranty after my 4 yr warranty had expired. I've been searching around the web for months including Lexus dealership and 3rd party companies but all of them was pretty expensive for 1-2 yr extended warranty. After reading all of your post I actually emailed Jerry Johnson today asking for a quote. Below is the quote he gave me. I wanted to share to CL members for future reference. By far this was the lowest quote I have gotten and I'll prolly buy 1 of em.

Note: this quote is for 08 IS-F 44k miles on it w/ $0 deductible.

6 YEAR 70,000 MILES $1,005.00,
6 YEAR 100,000 MILES $1,590.00
6 YEARS 125,000 MILES $2,210.00

7 YEARS 75,000 MILES $1,550.00,
7 YEAR 100,000 MILES $2,040.00
7 YEARS 125,000 MILES $2,845.00

8 YEAR 75,000 MILES $1,765.00
8 YEARS 100,000 MILES $2,485.00
8 YEARS 125,000 MILES $3,610.00

Can you purchase on through Jerry even though your warranty (time wise) is expired?

As far as I know yes. You can still buy it. My warranty expired when it hit may of this yr but my mile age was only 44k. Idk if it made a difference. I did tell jerry that my factory was expired. The best thing is probably call the guy.

From what Jerry Johnson told me. This is the process as far as trying to buy extended warranty when your factory warranty is expired. You have to provide him invoice of when was the last time you had your car maintained by a Lexus dealer, a picture of the odometer, and your VIN. Jerry will then forward this package to Corporate Lexus for approval. Once you get approve, you can buy it. Too bad mine didn't get approve cuz of my 44K miles on my car. Maybe others have better chance with lower mile age. Jerry is the person I would recommend for purchasing extended warranty.

Mine expired (Not from mileage but from time), and Lexus keeps calling me to buy one. Honestly, the reason why it's so cheap is cuz it's not needed, and they are in such low demand.

I suppose it's worth it for peace of mind? But I'm willing to bet that this car wouldn't require repairs adding up to the cost of the extended warranty during the entire warranty period. So I'm not buying it.
