It's been a great two years. I appreciate all the helpful tips. My favorite was the one that enabled DVD Video playback while moving.
The bug bit me, as it seems all too often. I traded for a new 2010 Corvette ZR1, Crystal Red Tintcoat, 6-spd manual, 638hp supercharged, 3ZR option package, chrome wheels. Of course the car is a beast, but truly and I say this with all sincerity, I've never before felt a tinge of regret at trading any car but my '08 IS-f was the exception. Just yesterday, I was at the dealer, and saw my IS-f prominently displayed for sale, and it made me sad, so much so I even gave some thoughts about buying it back.
The IS-f really has no peer in IMO, and for the way it combines a dual personality of quiet luxury refinement, or raucous sport performer.
The dealer was very eager to have this car in trade. I overheard the salesman commenting to the manager, both of whom are Corvette enthusiasts, how quickly the IS-f 8-speed tranny snaps off shifts from the paddles.
For me, the IS-f was intensely personal, and my time with it too short.
I take this opportunity to give one final rib-shot to those who think the IS-f is too harsh, Get one of the other Lexus models! The IS-f is firm, not harsh! The ZR1 on it's softest shock setting is livable but still rides harder.
Best to you all...Tom

I've thought if it myself in the past but need versatility more (and a break on insurance ........)
Good luck with the new 'Vette. at least try to keep your foot out of it............. sometimes....
Be sure and post back in here to give us an update and pics please.

I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you...seriously, I hate you. No, just completely jealous. Congratulations on the new ride. I can only imagine how much of a blast it it to drive. I think if I were to get a more performance oriented car than the ISF, I would get the Z06 Carbon.

To all:
Thank you for the many kind well wishes. I promise to post up a pic or two soon, right now don't have any. GM has produced about 3,000 C6 ZR1's, and actually over produced as they are famous for doing. But if you want to own something unique and scarce, you already have it, the IS-f. Don't let yours go without knowing what you have, a car that is coveted everywhere for it's combination of build quality, high performance, luxury and service experience.

Thanks all, and Howdy! I love my ZR1 but still miss my Lexy. It went out of state, got wholesaled, so I hope whoever ended up with the cherry SGM '08 is here and enjoying it. I took good care of it, not abused. Also miss that beautiful interior and seats.
At the Corvette forums a lot of guys post about BMWs and Audis, the IS-f is underrepresented, and I think the Lexus is the better car, so if you have some spare time please come over there and fly the banner!
