Default Need new rear tires - 275/35 or 275/30?

Need new rear tires and was wishing to go a little wider on the stock wheels for increased grip.

I read that some people went 275/30/19. Just wondering if there was a significant difference between 275/30 and 275/35 on the stock wheels. And the cons and pros of both

Thanks for anyones input.

The 35 is taller than OEM, the 30 is shorter than OEM. Taller means lower indicated speed and less indicated mileage than actual. Shorter means higher indicated speed and more indicated mileage than actual.

The OD of of the stock rear 255/35/19 is 26.0". A 275/30/19 is 25.5" tall. The 275/35/19 is 26.6" high. As you can see the stock height is somewhere right in the middle of the 275/35 and 275/30. I'm running a 285/30/19 on the stock wheel, and it's height is 25.7", this is 1% different than the stock height. The extra width has resulted in a better planted F. A tire that is different in height than stock in height may affects the car's electrics and/or the speedometer/odometer reading. Just a side note, if you increase the width of the rear, you'll want to compensate in the front, or you'll have an ill handling automobile.

^^^^Yep, I have a thread on it. I'll attach pics again. Pic one shows the rear tire bulge, which IMHO, is very small. Pic two and three show the tread for the rear and front. The fronts are 245/35/19 which is the same height as the rear 285/30/19. The tires are Continental Extreme Contact DW. I'm very pleased with them.

^^^^It might, and I thought about doing that. I also thought about clearance (the front wheels turn) and the fact that the OD of a 255/35 is a bit taller than the 245/35. In the end, I wanted to keep the front to rear tire height equal and not have to worry about clearance issues.
