Default MAF need to be cleaned when reinstalling stock intake?

Hello. I will be reinstalling my stock intake and was wondering if the MAF needs to be clean? I've been running the K&N just over a year.

just leave it alone. how are you going to clean the microscopic oil droplets? you might damage it in the process.

Oh ok. I was told there's a MAF cleaner spray that can be used?

There is, and it won't do any harm to use it. and will probably do some good.

You're right to be very cautious with MAF's -- they're very sensitive and delicate, and not for the ham fisted, but with care and proper handling, they can be maintained and cleaned without worry. Just don't touch the delicate wire sensor and don't drop or bang.

I use the electrical cleaner mentioned above.
