Default New wheel/tire combo

I have been doing a lot of research trying to find that perfect wheel/tire combination. In the end I may end up having custom rims made, but what do you all think about this combination?

Volk CE28N
18x8.5 40mm inset - F - 16lbs each
18x9.5 47mm inset - R - 17lbs each

Continental ExtremeContact DW
255/40R18 - F - 26" - 26lbs
285/35R18 - R - 25.9" - 28lbs

I think this combo should fit perfectly, and would have a 36lb total weight saving over stock wheels with REO50As (-8lbs each front and -10lbs each rear)...not too shabby 36 lbs reduction in unsprung weight and 30mm more rubber all around. My only problem with this combination is that Volks are expensive, and for that money I could spend just a bit more and get light weight custom wheels made for the car. I also do not know if they will clear the brakes or not.

They will clear the fenders, but will they clear the brakes too?

Can I ask why you want those offsets? You can fit that tire on a lower offset and clear fine.

Why get Volks in 18? I would just go with a set of eneki RPF1s in 18s and a set of Volks in 20s. I think the Volks cost to much just to look weird in 18''

I have some CE on my F. but I went with
19 x 8.5 +35
19 x 9.5 +36

This combination would be for fair weather months, and my stock wheels with Continental DWSs would be for the winter months.

If I ever start to track the ISF on a consistent basis, I would get a separate track wheel/tire setup going wider in the front.
