You've never bought real racing parts? They're expensive for a reason. I bet these actually do more than just let you lower the car.
Clearly, I haven't. Mad props to the OP on the purchase of what is surely a high-quality product. I can see why the market for such things would be lacking though for the IS-F.

custom spring rate that is matched and over matched if set for a large stiffer spring. special competiton valve that is more unique and built for the demands and handle the heat and abuse.

3 way for the adjustability for the high and low speed compression for the track.

lighter and rebuildable friendly.

Since it's not an "off the shelf" solution, I really doubt they'll end up being less than stellar. Most racing parts don't work on install, they have to be tuned to work right. The manufacturer assumes you know this and are willing to put in the time to make it work.

Off the shelf stuff is typically best guess to make the masses happy. Racing gear is infinitely customizable, so you can spend ridiculous amounts of time getting it sorted out. This is why having a really good tuner/crew chief is so important. The watch never lies, and your guys turning wrenches should understand how to translate what isn't working now into what will be working for the event.

Do you think those KW V3's are a SIGNIFICANT upgrade over stock suspension? If so, in what way?

Not even close. JIC looks like Megan coilovers next to KW.

You won't find a Japanese brand coilover that will perform like the American or European. The only Japanese coilover that even come close is Ohlin from Japan, but only because they're under strict supervision of the original Ohlin (Sweden).

QFTMFT. Asian suspension brands still haven't achieved the results of the American and European top brands except when they buy quality stuff from the US or Europe and put their stickers on it. Some day they'll figure it out.

Truer words have never been spoken. I took the Tein coilovers off my track car and sold them because they weren't good no matter how much I adjusted them.
