Black Pearl Emblem Installation DIY w/ Pics
Not that this is very difficult to figure out how to do...but I just got my BP emblems today and took a few pictures during the install. If anyone wants to see what kinds of holes are underneath the emblems for possibly shaving their trunk, etc. this may be helpful. Or if you want to see what the Black Pearl emblems look like in comparison to the OEM's.
Materials:
Electrical Tape (for lining up the "I" and the "S")
Dental Floss (for removing the emblems)
Blow Dryer (for heating up and removing the "L" logo, it's recessed so harder to remove)
Goo Gone (for removing the tape residue)
Alcohol Pads (for final cleaning before putting emblems on)
Windex/Paper Towels (because my car is really dirty)
The "I" emblem that I removed had a notch in it but the BP "I" did not. The "S" has no notches. The "L" and the "Lexus" have 2 each.
With the BP "I" and the stock "S" and my electrical tape outline.
"IS" BP outlined in electrical tape for proper placement.
Another angle of the "IS" installed.
"IS" done.
"IS" done, another angle.
Under the Lexus logo.
Side by side, and the trunk mat logo.
Lexus BP installed.
Both Lexus emblems.
Before swapping the "L" logo.
Behind the "L" on the trunk.
All done, will put the "F" emblems on another day.

I'm also having the silver part behind the grill painted black when I get my window trim painted.

Yeah they did come with the adhesive already on them. I love the look, the shine and color makes them stand out but still look "elegant"
It took me about an hour and a half but I was taking my time. Could easily be done in an hour or less. Removing the L emblem took the most time because I couldn't get the dental floss behind it since it's recessed in so I had to heat it up with a blow dryer and pull it off. Hope the pics are helpful!

I ordered a set for my MM F and plan on doing the installation during the next couple weeks. Though I am still thinking of removing the LEXUS, and the IS, and having the holes filled and repainted. Just not sure it is worth the hassle. But thanks for the pics they look very nice on your car.
Do you have any plans for matching the color on the exhaust tips?

No plans right now for any change to the exhaust tips but we will see what happens down the road.
The emblems all stick on, none screw on. The Lexus and L emblems have two little "tabs" on each one that stick out, they go into the holes and that way you can't mess up the alignment. The I and the S didn't so I used tape to get them put back right where they go.
