Default Brake dust vs Armor All wheel protectant

Came across some Armor All Wheel protectant at the store tonight, its supposed to repel dirt/dust etc. Here is a video showing how it does against dirt, mud and even honey:

I'm thinking of running a test on the F by treating one side and leaving the other side untreated and taking pics of the progress to see how well it works with the horrible brake dust on our cars.

Has anyone tried this product yet?

Day 1:
Here is the horrible brake dust before cleaning:

I washed and dried the rim.

Then I sprayed on the product on the left side of the rim. It went on clear I didn't see any residue except some white parts on the tire which was easily cleaned away.

6 days later:
Can't say I see much of a difference, I sprayed it pretty well too but it didn't seem to help at all.
The product was sprayed on the bottom half of the rim in this picture, the wheel is in a different position than the first picture I took.

I'm amazed as well. At least if it does not keep off brake dust, it'll keep dirt and other stuff off.

I was just at canadian tire, and they have the same product
but they call it rim protector instead of wheel protector
I believe the wheel protector is a newer product
maybe an updated version? or a usa version?
I almost bought it but it dosnt state if its safe on certain kind of wheels
and i figured id just watch this thread and see how it pans out

wow that would help a lot of people who didn't change their pads, if it works. a better cost alternative to keep ur wheels clean.

Ok that sounds like a good idea as it should make for an easier side by side comparison. I cleaned dried and sprayed half of each front rim and took some pictures. I took notes on which half I sprayed, I'm hoping it will be obvious by the end of the test but just to be sure.

I'm thinking of taking pics every Monday for the next month and seeing how it holds up and updating the results here. I'll be updating the first post as the test goes along. I'll have the first pics up as soon as I'm done with a few things I need to do around the house. Its summer in AZ so I don't expect any rain or water to mess with the results.

yeah, that way you know for sure if it works...cause it's on the same tire...not the whole other side of the car...and it's easy to see the diff as well...
maybe take before and after pics too...

Sweet thanks for doing the experiment. I usually try to avoid Armor All products, especially on the wheels, since I don't trust their quality. But if this is safe on our stockers, then I might change my mind.
