Default I have new found appreciation for the Lexus IS-F

Ok, first off, I didn't really pay too much attention to the IS-f before....but whoa! I am impressed.

This is the one circumstance where I can say that Lexus has done everything it can to meet the Germans head on. I really like almost everything about it. It really feels and looks like it is worth 80k and not the 68k MSRP

Couple things:

Can anyone confirm if the four tail exhausts are actually operational? I heard that the top two are cosmetic?

Is there caron fibre on the exterior?

Any alluminum in the chassis like the Audi A8?

No aluminum in the chassis, just the hood.

Not carbon, but aluminum.

I might be wrong but I think I read a couple of years ago that not only the hood was aluminum, but also de trunk and fenders. About the exhaust tips, are you for real? I can't believe someone with over 2,000 posts is asking that question in this forum... yes, they're operational as well as the vents on the front fenders.

the issue is not whether or not they are operational. german fanboys were saying that they arent connected to the tips.

just like the LS460, the exhaust tips on the bumper are not actually connected to the exhaust...

Hey Juan - First I've heard about the trunk and fenders. I just took a magnet out to my car, and it stuck to the trunk and fenders. Not aluminum.

LoL at the German fanboys...

I am sure they had a lot to say about the new improvements made to the 7 series...

To ALL:

The Exhaust tips are already connected to the Mufflers.

What you have on the bumper is called an Exhaust Diffuser...

This provides the perfect platform for the carefully-tuned suspension and steering systems to work just as their designers intended.

Here are my results...

Aluminum Hood, Aluminum Brembo Brake Calipers, Aluminum Engine Block & Heads and 19" Forged Aluminum Alloy Wheels

I am sure they are more smaller Aluminum parts found through out the IS-F , but above are the major parts.......

Anyone still thinking or trashing the ISF exhaust setup would slit their wrists if they saw the Lambo/R8/Ferrari ones.

It's old and lame.

If the IS F had a regular exhaust people would bish Lexus is boring and does nothing different
