Also, my dyno is scheduled for the 17th...things are pretty booked up and that is the dyno day for the club even so I should have plenty fo time to swap intakes and get some drive time and then return for another baseline.

Fig
Yes, that would be great if both Takeda and Injen received your pictures, feedback, and issues. This will in turn allow them to make the necessary improvements, and ship revised intakes for the group purchase.

I agree Lou, when I installed the Takeda in the F, I was actually impressed by how well the MAF fit...interesting Figs ran into an issue

Unfortunately, this does demonstrate that there is some variations in production from unit to unit.

Understandable and completely expected, it happens with any distributor for any product

In all honesty, for me at least, some of these variations are unacceptable. Once the tooling, design, and manufacturing process is completed for a product, there should be no significant variations, such as holes not ligned up properly, welding issues, etc...

I forgot about the MAF issue, but I also had the same misalignment when putting it together. Did the same thing you did with a file to make the hole slightly elongated and all was fixed.

That sounded really good and deep. Is there any other mods on the car?

Yes the sound is typical of a open intake, throaty and in the case of the F it gets raspy at high RPM. I am not sure it if sheetmetal resonance or just the typical sound. I will know for sure with the Injen.

Since the dyno is next week I may install the Injen this week to get everything prepped for the swap at the dyno. I will post up another vid in that case.

This week is a little crazy, lots of orders and I still need to do my taxes

I've noticed the raspyness on the OEM intake and the JoeZ intake too. (my car)

I did hear some on your vid but don't find it distracting or objectionable on any application.

I could not care less about the sound.

Dyno's are expensive and I appreciate you planning on doing these but it is the only information I am waiting for so the sooner, the better.

Beside the noise factor did you notice if the car rev easier, any notable power increase?
