Help with OPTIMUM 19" wheel offsets / widths for IS-F
Hey guys,
I’ve done a lot of reading here and it seems everyone upgrades to 20” rim/tire setups and there are few discussions on staying with 19” setups.
However for me I have plenty of experience with 20” rims and the harsh ride which I cannot do since this is my daily driver. I want to maintain my ride quality and stay in the 19” realm so can someone help me out?
I know the OEM fitment is:
19x8, +45 (225/40/19)
19x9, +55 (255/35/19)
My plan is to go slightly wider in terms of wheel widths and a wider tire (Falken Azenis RT615) so was thinking would this setup work? I know our IS-F has big brake calipers so not sure on clearance.
19x9, +37
19x10, +35
I’m not sure what tire size but thinking a 275/30 out back and what about front? I’m looking for rims that will tuck into the fenders when compressed since I do not want to risk fender damage if I’m carrying heavy loads or extra passengers. As it sits now my car is pretty slammed on BCR coils but will be swapping to KWV3’s eventually.
Hopefully this thread will be useful reference for others who want to stay in the 19” wheel selection
Thanks guys
rick

I like your thinking and I plan on doing the exact same thing either with SSR's or Advans. I think that offset should be doable to clear the massives up front and the rears shouldn't rub in the back

I think CrazyMPG had 19's in the same sizes and offsets you're asking about..Looks awesome imo..

For the fronts the 9" would be fine, but the rears I would go with a 10.5 or even an 11" It would fit without rubbing if done properly with the correct offsets.
Are you going to a bigger width on the tires or is this for looks?

The vendor told me if I wanted to be "safe" and conservative he said he would do these sizes:
19x8.5+45
19x9.5+45
The front is almost stock (just 0.5" wider but same offset as OEM) that's odd....
It seems like from what you guys have said so far and looking at CrazyMPG's ride, the 19x10, +35 is a VERY SAFE fitment for a 275/30/19 tire?
hmm so for fronts should I do the 19x9, +37 or 19x8.5, +45?

19x8.5 might give you more flexibility with tires
And I love those matte black Advans
That's exactly what I had in mind and I think they are under 20 lbs. so you are definitely saving some lbs. over oem

19x9 with +37 in the front will be fine. I have 19x9 with +30 in the front and I have no rubbing issue. I have a one finger gap in the front from the tires to the fenders.
For the rear, you can go with 19x10.5 +45 offset if you don't want to rub (of course you might have to shave your quarter panels) and you won't have to stretch your tires. I have 19x10.5 with +43 offset wrapped with 265/35 PS2. It rubs a tiny bit at full load with the rear quarter panels shaved due to the design of the tires. So if you want to be safe, I'd say go with +45 on 10.5" width and if you decide to go with 10" width, +38 will be good. Hope that helps.
