Default Credit card key and compatibility?

So today I went to my local dealer, Lexus of Nashville, and asked about the credit card key that I heard about through this board. I was told that because my IS-F is a 2008 model, it is not compatible with the key they have available. They told me the key is only able to be paired with a 2010 IS-F. My question is, has anyone on here successfully done this with an 08 or 09?

Yeah I know what it looks like. I need to know if anyone has done it on an 08 or 09 and how. The dealer is saying that the card is incompatible with them.

I was always under the impression that it was a completely different lock/unlocking system...

I have programmed the credit card style key to the IS-F. However the key I have is not the same key as pictured as it does not have the F logo on it. The part number for the key I am using is 89904-50641.

Follow this link to another thread about the same issue.
