Default Where do you guys plug the radar?

I just bought a 9500IX. I've heard that plugging in the cigarette lighter will burn some kind of fuse due to high voltage from the radar/GPS?

Or do you just stretch the wire to the handrest where the 12v outlet is?

Thanks

I'd hardwire it to the map light's constant 12v. cleaner install.

I have many hours with my V-1 safely plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet. What you were told is complete BS.

Most performance mods need a watch and timed course to demonstrate actual improvement. Few deliver the advertised claims. Many are actually worse than stock. The best performance mods are made to the driver.

agreed, or wire it to the ignition so it wont turn on until you start your car or else it'll be on when you listen to music parked

I've had my 9500XI plugged in here for 9months and over 14k miles with no issues.

i've got mine wired around the front windshield, around to the front of the passenger side, where it meets the exteneded cable from the center console. i pulled out the bottom of the plastic piece at the front passenger footwell and connected the both cables and hide it inside the plastic. only cable i can see is the center console to the bottom of the platic of the center console. i left my cigarette 12v for my cell charger incase i need it..

Mine's plugged into the arm rest.

Accidentally dropped a penny into the cig lighter and shorted it out. Such a PITA.

Used to have it plugged into the lighter, you'll be fine having it in there

This is how mine is set up now, clean and simple. The dealership even rehardwired it for me when they put in the new mirror
