Brake Pads life on F
I just had the 5k mile service and they mentioned my front brake pads are at 80%. Is that normal? Should I expect to replace them around 15-20k miles. Thoughts?

Probably - We have Brembo performance brakes that give great performance, but dust and wear fast. IMHO, a great trade-off.
Read the below referenced threads. These should help you understand a bit more about the brakes and our replacement options.

FYI....
I just got my ~25,000 mile checkup, and I really had around 27k. My front pads were at 3mm and my rears were at still at 7mm. My dealer recommended changing my fronts around 2-3mm so I'll buying new ones soon, not OEM btw. I drive my car all year round so the pads have been through almost two hot Chicago summers and 1 brutal Chicago winter. So technically my fronts will last around 28k miles and rears, we'll see. Most of my miles are commuter miles 70% highway and 30% city.
I don't think I represent "the norm" when it comes to pad life. But there is potential. Some people just race up to stop lights and stop and go hard. If you drive normally, the pads have life. Plenty of dust too though.

I'm at 20K miles and my fronts are at 3mm and rears at 8mm. I'll be replacing the front pads ASAP, I may be getting Ferodos DS2500, not as dusty as OEMs but good stopping power. Any better option?
By the way, the dealer told me that my front rotos are good, no need to replace them. They said that in this car front rotors are replaced most of the time, if that's the case the front brake service goes for around $900.

I had to have my rotors and pads replaced at 12000 miles Needless to say, I drive it like it's meant to be driven Now I need to have my entire front bumper replaced and my lip repainted due to a hit and run. Oh well, no one got hurt and stuff happens
