Default Blacked out stock wheels

Update: Please scroll down to post #22 for full pics

Nothing wrong with the stock gun-metal. Just wanted to match the wheels with the rest of the blacked out parts. Was skeptical about the mod at first, but it came out as good as I hoped. I've been asked if my black roof and wheels are a factory option by a lexus employee at the dealership.

The car has that panda look now. This was a cost alternative option for me. 300 for the painted wheels opposed to spending $5k on new rims...., for now.

windex, thanks! and these pics are crap, i know... I'll take some better ones in the daylight.

nOth1ng, i see that you have SGM, which looks perfect w/ the stock gunmetal. This mod would be a dumb move for you.

Ehhh... I really liked the color of the stock wheels. Painting it black seems to cheapen it somewhat.

Maybe better pics will change my mind.

Looks pretty cool...

But I got some bad news.

So far I can tell your front wheels are mounted backwards due to the blade direction.

I really can't see the blade direction on the rears.

Each wheel has a specific location: FR, FL, RR, RL

On the inside blade (1 of them) of each rim, it will be embosed accordingly.

Hopefully your Hankook tires are not directional or you going to need to dis-mount, re-mount & re-balance.

Regards,

Joe Z

Looking good, and looks like the other brightwork/trim is blacked-out too.

The OEM wheel mounting police strikes again! ha ha. That's amazing consider that I can barely see the wheels in the pix because it's all black! he he

WOW. I didnt even notice that until you said it so.. i checked up on my car since i had the same tires. looks like joe z is rite.. you need to dismount it...
you can see the lettering it same on the tires but then different blade direction.
you should get them checked out...
Hopefully you can see the Hankook part of the tire..

Are there markings on the wheels themselves which indicate direction?
