Default Drive Shaft

Does anybody know what material the OEM driveshaft is made of? I know a guy who keeps begging me to get my car on a lift so he can check out the IS-F driveline. He owns Gforce1320 and they do alot of driveline stuff for GTO's. He wants to prototype a carbon fiber shaft on my car if the OEM unit is heavy. Just haven't had time to get the car to him. Would save me some time if someone knew if the OEM piece was already carbon fiber or not.

Curious if there would even be market for these, also.

Like I said on the other forum; I can promise you the drive shaft is NOT carbon fiber.

Absolutely a market for it
It's a popular mod for racers who want to reduce driveline mass/weight thereby affecting accelleration in a positive manner.

For me tho, it would have to be made very well and be able to get Lexus' approval (just as my JoeZ exhaust did.)

Colin.

It's a steel, two-piece unit. I was considering a CF replacement, but it fell down the list of priorities.
