Exactly what I was thinking today. It has to be a inside job. Think of your co-worker, friends, random people you talk to and told them that you are going out of town. It is very rare that someone comes by your house and steal your car out of the blue.
In my old car, I parked in the street over night in a public area. The next morning at 6 AM, I was walking to my car and saw a tow truck trying to tow my car away. I asked him what the problem is and he told me that I parked at the wrong spot. (which I didn't) He lowered my car right away and left. I copied down his license plate and filed a police report.
