Sounds very tempting with all your reviews - I have the JoeZ exhuast but hesitant to touch the intake after my last GS400 issues with SRT

Anyone have pictures of the installation?

Great experience with Circuit Motorsports..

I ordered the K&N intake on the 16th, Thursday evening. I received the intake monday, the 20th. $279 shipped.

I installed the intake yesterday. I'm very happy with it. Where the stock secondary intake would have opened, the K&N screams.

No dyno yet, but the seat of my pants and trac light tell me it's faster. I'm running 275/35 Nitto 555 rear tires. I never see the trac light blink, flooring from a dig. Today reached 102 degrees in the San Fernando Valley (according to the cars outside thermometer). WOT in normal mode got the tires to spin.

Thanks again Circuit Motorsports for a great price and speedy shipping. I'll be ordering those coilovers from ya soon. =]

^ Is your car broken in? With all electronics on, I get the slip light pretty easily in first, even from a roll. With electronics off... well I can spin the entire 1st gear. I have no power mods, and running 20s with the same width tires too. Not that the slip light is any legit indication of power gains

The fact that K&N claims a 28hp gain (Even tho everyone knows it's not true) is also a bit of a turn-off for me.

Are you kidding??????? Shouldn't that be 2.8 not 28?!
If that is their claim, I find that a little hard to believe.
But hey, if true and provable, show me.

I swear a fellow forum member already dynoed this intake and the result was a consistent 15hp.

yeah, so I dont understand whats all this fuss about, theres a proven dyno and it clearly has more hp and more torque over the Baseline and Joe Z pipe. I have it in my car and love it.

I think most that have the Joe Z intake prefer to keep their low end torque and retain the factory dual stage sound. Just because the dyno numbers are greater doesn't necessarily mean it's much better. Two problems I have with the K&N intake: 1) Open element short ram design = suction of engine bay heat regardless of that shield. 2) You lose the real cold air dual stage factory air intake system which Toyota & Yamaha engineers spent a lot of money on for R&D.

QFT... unless you plan to drive your car with the hood up and have fans blowing at it.
