There's a lot of truth in this, but even though I weigh north of 200 lbs, I can't lose 200 lbs. I can remove 200 lbs of unnecessary stuff if I am willing to accept the compromises associated with those weight reductions (increased noise, no spare or jack, loss of amenities, etc.)

Not disagreeing there's value in reducing personal mass - there are MANY benefits to this completely unrelated to driving - but there's still only so much you can safely drop from your personal mass.

When I road raced motorcycles and bicycles, I weighed between 165 and 172 lbs. I'm 6' 2". I looked like a stick boy, but I was racing against guys weighing 30 lbs less and I needed every advantage I could get.

Do you have any pics of your track car, and did you add a cage? If so how much weight did that add?

i made a copy of the spare tire cover with 1/4" plywood and wrapped it with black cloth to make it look OEM. i also put two blocks of firm styrofoam in the chamber to support the plywood.

I hear that the IS-F spare rim & tire alone weighs approx. 37 lbs

Give or take pound or two.

I never weighed mine.. But it does help me get traction!!! LoL

Omg people here are hard core , i did all these sords of thngs on my last ride ,

No carbon parts because some times if not all of the time they are heavier than aluminum

But removed air bags , bumoer beams, suspension parts, seats, interior parts , spare , jack , tools , seats , steering wheel , dummy seat on the back, rims etc i manage to reduce arround 300 pounds and still looked legal. But if you ask me now was not worth it the noises , the smell, the car felt really gast but very loose not unstable but loose its hard to explain i hade 675 whp on that ride !!! So in that manner is different but i wouldnt do that on the F never

On the F i would

Replace batery
Remove tools , and spare, no need for engine cober or spare cover they are light
Carpets( if im dragging or racing)
Less then 1/4 of gas
Windshield wiper empty
Nothing in the car but me

And thats it for me

removing the spare will not make the car flex at all
the spare floor is located between the chasis rail
and the rear bar support holds the chassis rail together

I think I may have to get the Odyssey PC680T battery to shed some weight. I will put this in the trunk in case I have any problems. It offsets more than half of the weight savings, but on the plus side it will be helping move some weight from front to rear...plus I'll have the ability to put air in the tires, and have a USB power source.

We still have a few sets of 2P rotors in stock for some real weight savings.
20lbs of rotating mass.

Yeah, I'm kicking myself for not having bought them from you at the introductory pricing...I could have saved myself $400 or so. BTW, I thought it was 23 lbs of rotating mass saved...
