i love being able to control this crap finally via steering wheel.

it sounds so much better.

and it doesn't interfere with phone calls (well, the JoeZ exhaust WOT and alpine type r 12 in a vented box does interfere with phone calls )

Just a quick note. Prestigious Society does not make the nav override; they just sell it. And I found that they sell it for about $80-130 more than some ebayers who sell the exact same item.

Edit:

I looked it up. I bought mine from this guy sometime last year (Prestigious Society charges $350 for the same thing):

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=150336981237

He lives in southern CA.

email the dude I gave a link for and tell him to put up another on a buy it now. Use bing.com and get the override for about $200 which is $150 less than Prestigious Society. That more than covers the cost of install of both the override and the VAIS unit at Music Box.

You guys pay $200+ for the override? WOW, that's expensive, why don't you hack the system for free? It took me less than 30 min. from start to finish, and I have access to all the options while moving except entering addresses on the NAV.

the free hack is wire cutting. sorry but there's something about splicing wires that makes me cringe a little when there is a suitable (for me) alternative.

Yes, I cut 2 wires about a year ago and it works great, not a single problem. A DIY is posted here.

I tried it with my car, and tried all 3 white wires and none of them worked, Im about to get this prestige thing too. Any hinters? I have no problem taking the dash apart, it seriously only takes me 5 mins and the nav units out.

This is the DIY instructions that I used:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...en-moving.html

Extremely easy to follow, and it takes less than 30 min. Actually the hard part was to remove the A/C vents! At the end of the DIY you see that the red wire on the J50 connector has to be grounded for those with the ML system so DVD playback is possible while in motion. Remember that once you cut the red wire, you need to ground the end on the ML system.
