If they all do it, then it is almost certainly normal.
High performance engines, which the IS-F's engine most certainly is, often are noisier and bumpier and rumblier than luxury car engines, even if they are based on the same basic design.
The ramp rates on cam lobes and the clickety-clack of high flow injectors, a bit of slap from short-skirt pistons and so on, are just part of the fun.
If Lexus won't do anything to it, I'd say just drive the heck out of it and if the engine crashes let them put a new one in it. That's why you have the warantee (I have the extended warantee up to 100k miles).
My ticking under a rev gets slightly faster as I press on the pedal gradually. You can hear the inconsistant sound get faster then it sort of drowns out by actual engine sound.
i had a very similar sound coming from my 2004 S2000. Turned out to be the Timing Chain Tensioner (TCT). I bought a new one from the dealer for ~150 which solved the problem. Worth looking into...
After that I'm inclined to agree with the cam chain tensioner fault. A loose valve continues to tick regardless of rpm. Your noise definitely goes away with a little rpm. There are four chains driving the cams, and four tensioners. One could be bad.
Most performance mods need a watch and timed course to demonstrate actual improvement. Few deliver the advertised claims. Many are actually worse than stock. The best performance mods are made to the driver.
Emotional arguments - They're not just for chicks anymore.

Lance, so this tensioner(s) you speak of have nothing to do with the TSIB released regarding the Accy Drive Belt tensior (see TSIB here), issued for some of the early 08' IS-Fs with VINs before JTHBP2#2*85001591.

Totally different tensioners. There is one accessory drive belt tensioner identified in the TSIB. There are four cam chain tensioners identified in the engine documentation. They typically have a ratchet mechanism built into them to prevent the kind of noise we're hearing in these recordings. Once the slack is taken, the ratchet prevents any new slack from being introduced. I've seen lots of variations on a theme over the years in bikes, and I've seen lots of these devices fail to lock in place, so it would make sense to me it could be a cam chain tensioner.

Ok guys...I just recieved a call from the Lexus Rep and they have told me nothing they can do as this sound is normal...This is very frustating as they are denying to even fix the problem...Any suggestions of what should i do at this point? They said they have called the dealership i went to and talked to service director and dealership advised them about the sound being normal
^^^^Yes, A regional representative visits every Lexus dealer on a scheduled basis. You can either talk to Lexus directly or talk with your dealer and make an appointment to meet with him when he makes his scheduled visit to your dealer. When you talk to him, bring him a printed copy of this thread.

Schedule a meeting with the Service Director and Shop Foreman of your dealership..
Even better if you get the District Manager involved..
Make sure YOU can easily replicate the tapping sound coming from the lower area of your engine.
Right in front of them..
Then have them show you another IS-F on the lot with this “Normal” noise...
When the other F doesn't make the noise, hand them your key fob.
Good Luck,
Joe Z

Yes, because the oil is thinner after it warms up. Usually the tensioner has a ratcheting device on it so it can't get loose, but they do occasionally fail.
