K&N Dyno(Baseline vs Joe Z i/e vs K&N i/Joe Z exhaust)
Well after a long wait I finally dyno'd the K&N intake today. So here it is guys and sorry for the long wait. As for the results I'm very impressed with the gains from this intake but I've noticed after about 8 runs the power gains wasn't really consistent. I would say from heat stroke but after adding some engine cooling down time and adding another fan to the engine bay and to the intake itself it dyno'd better numbers after all. Here are the results. Enjoy
Dyno run 013: 379.1 whp 353 ft lbs tq K&N typhoon intake + Joe Z exhaust
Dyno run 008: 366.7 whp 343 ft lbs tq Joe Z intake pipe + Joe Z exhaust
I also tried a 4th gear pull to compare the difference between 6th gear pull. HP numbers were not off by much but tq numbers were off significantly.
Dyno run 016: 374.4 whp 336.2 ft lbs tq 4th gear pull
Dyno run 013: 379.1 whp 353.1 ft lbs tq 6th gear pull
From baseline stock numbers to modded dyno numbers
Baseline stock run: 356whp 333 ft lbs tq
Joe Z intake pipe + Joe Z exhaust run: 366.7whp 343 ft lbs tq
K&N typhoon intake + Joe Z exhaust run: 379.1 whp 353.1 ft lbs of tq
In the end there wasn't really 28.15 whp gain that K&N actually claimed(maybe closer on a DynoJet) but on a Dyno Dynamics Dyno a gain of 12 whp and 10 ft lbs of tq from just a short ram intake is pretty damn good to me.
Thanks,
Andy

I have a few questions. Not too familiar with the type of dyno you were on, but are the runs "corrected SAE"? Did you dyno the JoeZ intake and the K&N intake all on the same day? Also of the multiple runs with the K&N, did they all consistently show more power than with your JOEZ intake setup or was it an oddity based on your direct fan placement?
My only other concern is with the K&N oil vapors affecting the MAF, that have troubled other IS-F's.
Keep us posted.

I'm a little surprised, I thought JoeZ pipes were outperforming K&N, at least on the IS250s and IS350s... am I missing something here? Or does the JoeZ intake include the box as well?
