The fluid flows back up while squeezing the brake caliper pistons back into place.

Thanks for the write up James! Keep us updated on the status of the pads. I'm ready for less wheel cleaning sessions.

As long as it's ok to mention brands, I did a google and came up with a company in North Carolina named Carbotech that makes ceramic/kevlar pads for the front end of our cars. They have 4 or 5 compounds and were very nice to talk to. They don't have rears but would be glad to re-line your old rears should you desire to send them in. I may give them a try.

100mi on the new pads
Just hit 100 miles on the new front pads and I have a few things to comment on.
1. I now have more rear brake dust than I do in the front. I'd say dust is reduced by 80% compared to before.
2. Now I'd like to have matching pads for the rear, but no biggie.
3. The brakes are much quieter than stock
4. Stopping distance doesn't seem to be affected but does require more effort.
5. Initial bite is affected as they no longer suddenly grip like the stock pads.
6. They offer a more comfortable initial bite and no longer make noise when creeping along stop/go style in parking lots.
Rear after 100mi (has a noticeable amount of brake dust and isn't as shiny as the fronts)
Front after 100mi (notice the wheel is overall shinier than the rear?)

How is the condition of the rotors and any squeals or noises?
