August 08/2014

My best run of the night was 13.095 @ 110.48 MPH.

Density Altitude = 4698ft. 84.2% F, 33% Humidity, 29.83 Pressure. Track is 2200ft above sea level as is.

DA converted time = 12.335 @ 117.31 MPH

Mods - ISS Forged DES Exhaust, Takeda Intake

BTW, I beat a 2014 Mustang 5.0 heads up. He ran a 13.775 and I ran a 13.118. My RT was 0.069, his was 0.548

Took the F out for the first time to the track. A little disappointed in the times I got. My rear tires are pretty worn though so I couldn't grab any traction of the line not mention my ****ty reaction time. Hopefully I will get a little better. Ran bone stock. Was pretty hot too. I'm in Phoenix so temps were in the high 90's.

Corrected time for the density altitude is around 12.9@111 or a little slower

Really?! Thats cool! How do you calculate Corrected time for the density altitude? Sorry I'm a noob in the track world.

http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php

For the guy in Pheonix who raced for the first time. If it is a regular light setup and it drops 1 at a time, when you see the 3rd yellow light, hit the gas. Don't wait to see the green light, that is why your R/T is so slow. Last time at the track I was hitting the gas as the 2nd yellow went out and I got a R/T of 0.023

Also, if you are serious about getting better times, you need to get some rims and tires. Get some 18's with Nitto NT 05 (street tires) or the Nitto NT 05R (drag tires), obviously only for the rear as the fronts make no difference. I went from a time like yours, to a time of 13 flat which equals 12.3 after my density altitude calculator.

Good luck and if you need more info, just send me a pm and I will send you some more info on what you need to know to improve your times.

Your reaction time has nothing to do with your 60 ft or your time/trap speed.

Your 60ft has all to do with your 1/4 mile time.

Your car's power has all to do with your trap speed.

Went up to Canada to hit a dragstrip today and see how i would do. It was 86 degrees out, sunny, light tail wind.
went 11.8 with 100 shot on slicks at 26 psi. This run would have turned out much quicker if it was 40 degrees. Over all car ran great.

Darbs:
What kind of 60' times were you getting with street tires? Did the slicks help much?

For the rest of the people: What did you you do to get the best 1/4 times? Sport mode, manual shift, traction control off, etc?

Sport Mode, VSC/TC off (long push), Manual Mode, launch from somewhere around 1000 rpm, shift slightly after the beep in all gears.

On my only time to the drag strip a few years back, I personally achieved my best run of 12.09 (great weather and track conditions) on street tires by shifting 1st-2nd a millisecond before the beep, and then shifting after the beep a little before the rev limiter in all other gears. I crossed the 1/4 mile bouncing off the rev limiter in 4th otherwise the trap speed would be a little higher but the ET a little worse. You will have to feel it out though based on the atmospherics you have on that particular day, the condition of the track, how much power your car makes, and how much traction your particular tires have. I was able to hook my Michelin PSS tires like a champ until the big dogs started laying down massive burnouts while staging. After that I couldn't hook up on the rubber they put down to save my life...and I called it quits for the day.

I have attached my time slip. Under the right conditions you can hook up street tires pretty well if you're careful.
